Assistant Controller - Toronto, Canada - One King West Hotel & Residence
Description
In charge of the Income Audit and providing information to Management related to revenues daily- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Reviewing contracts from Sales team & approving credit, monitor aged accounts receivable summary and followup with clients about receipt of payments
- Completes month end function
- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations
- Responsible for reconciling and remitting all government tax remittances
- Lead the information gathering for the yearend audit and review processes
- Assist in coaching and developing the other team members within the department
- Assist and provide support to all other Departments within the property
- Coordinating or assisting with the budget process
- Providing monthly, quarterly and year end analyses
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Other tasks assigned by Controller
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge & Experience in general accounting procedures
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal)
- Strong excel skills
- Able to work independently and within a team
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 35 years Accounting Experience
- Postsecondary degree
- Enrolled in professional accounting program (CPA)
- Previous hotel experience
- Previous experience using Sage Accpac
