    Description

    Are you a Software Engineer looking for a fresh challenge?

    We are excited to present to you a new contract opportunity: Software Engineer

    • Start: As soon as possible
    • Estimated length: 12 months
    • Location: Toronto
    • Hybrid role, must attend Toronto location once every two weeks.
    The arrangement might evolve based on company & team dynamics.

    Responsibilities

    • Craft high quality, secure, and dependable code following unit testing, test driven development, coding standards & security procedures

    • Plan, code, test, troubleshoot, and document new and existing components to meet software requirements
    • Adhere to agile principles, participate in ceremonies to estimate, plan, design, collaborate with peers to complete stories, and achieve sprint goals
    • Assist the team in quickly and efficiently resolving code-level issues
    • Contribute to the design and architecture for secure, scalable, maintainable software
    • Support production deployment, operations, and maintenance as part of a dedicated team managing its code

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

    • 6+ years of professional experience constructing API's
    • Proficiency in REST API standards and web services
    • Expertise in building, scaling, and fine-tuning REST APIs
    • Hands-on experience with building distributed asynchronous systems
    • Proficient in debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving

    Nice to have:

    • Background in developing and maintaining large-scale production systems
    • Familiarity with AWS services like SQS, SNS, Elastic Search, Dynamo DB, RDS, Elastic Cache, etc.
    • Experience in UI development with React
    • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, continuous integration/delivery, and modern development practices
