EMERGENCY EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT
(Temporary, Full Time and Part Time)
The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph.
UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

The Board requires Emergency EAs to work in all geographical areas of the Board including North Wellington, Centre Wellington, East Wellington, Guelph, Orangeville, Dufferin County and Shelburne.
Emergency EAs must possess willingness, along with the physical ability, to work with all of our students who have many diverse needs.
FTE/HOURS:1.0 FTE; 32.5 hours per week;
temporary full time
0.5 FTE; 16.25 hours per week
; temporary part time

HOURLY RATE:
$25.74 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Emergency EAs work with students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour, safety, medical and physical needs of a student. Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment. Emergency EAs work with students both individually and/or in a group setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled or completed postsecondary studies
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information
- Prior experience (paid or volunteer) working with children is a strong asset
- Working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred
- Schoolbased experience is a definite asset
- Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, parents and Administration
- Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools
