Job Description AECOM** is seeking a passionate Community Engagement and Communication Intern to be based in Kitchener, Ontario to ensure tremendous outcomes from the work we do with our clients. This is a temporary full-time 4-month position.

This position is expected to begin in May 2024._

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assisting multi-disciplinary teams and project managers to develop strategic communication and community engagement plans and activities on behalf of our clients.
Supporting tracking and reporting on the results of consultation and engagement.
Assisting with public and stakeholder engagement activities and tactics, including inperson and virtual workshops, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses.
Supporting the development of communication materials including key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, storyboards, and discussion guides.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements**:

Currently completing their Bachelor's degree in Communication, Environmental Planning, or other related fields.
Must be in their 3rd year of study in the relevant program

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problemsolving, and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills; this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders, client management, and the public.
Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory and policy context, Federal and Provincial Impact Assessment processes
Being bilingual in English and French would be an asset
Experience with government relations, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis, and facilitation.
Knowledge of project coordination/ management concepts and processes.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $20.48 $28.15
