Job Summary

  • The Undergraduate Medical Education Office delivers an informative and challenging curriculum for the undergraduate students enrolled in the Medical School, preparing them for the next step in their medical education. Reporting to the UGME Administrator, the Longitudinal Coordinator is an integral member of UGME in the delivery of the MD program, where they are responsible for administering and coordinating the curriculum, student assessment, and program evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate yearly assigned curriculum in collaboration and consultation with UGME staff and unit heads for Skilled Clinician and Interprofessional Education (assigning students to tutorial groups, inputting student schedules into scheduling software [One45], collecting, formatting and posting course material to Brightspace, coordinating the booking rooms, etc.)
  • Assist unit heads in the development and revisions of examinations; provide exam invigilation and ensure timely entry of exam data postexam. Organize preandpost
- exam review meetings with the exam review committee.

  • Assist with annual Unit Review process.
  • Distribute and track program evaluations and student assessments using online tools. Liaise with Dalhousie departments for training and access to facilities and resources.
  • Support unit heads in the development and management of their respective units. Liaise with DMNB coordinators and faculty to maintain comparable delivery of curriculum at Saint John site; including timely collection and posting of cases.
  • Provide support to general operations and function of the UGME office; such as monitor and respond to issues informing unit heads, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, UGME Administrator, and other stakeholders as required; and crosscoverage to UGME staff and committee support, as needed.

Note

  • The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of inperson work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Business/Office Administrative program with approximately five years' related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to organize workload, as well as the ability to work independently and to multitask in a deadlinedriven, team environment.

Assets

  • Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environment.
  • Knowledge of Banner, Brightspace, One45 and DalMedix.
