The Entry to School Program at Surrey Place aims to support children ages 3-6 years old, who are registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) prepare for kindergarten or Grade 1 for the first time.

As part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program, the Entry to School program is seeking an Entry to School Program Assistant.
Please note that as this position is a part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program, it is therefore dependent on funding
Main Responsibilities
The Entry to School Program Assistant is responsible for supporting Entry to School Skill Building Services. This role has a clinical, research and education focus.
The duties of the Entry to School Program Assistant are but not limited to:
- Support the delivery of Entry to School Skill Building services and work directly with children.
- Create and assist with the development of program materials, design and implement activities and participate in group activities with Classroom Facilitators and children.
- Work directly with Classroom Facilitators to support skillbuilding, including collecting data.
- Support Program Supervisor and Classroom Facilitators in setting up presentations and preparing materials for family workshops.
- Responsible for data entry and collection for both clinical and administrative purposes.
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education is preferred.
- Good communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines.
- Newcomers / refugee youth (Newcomers are defined as having arrived in Canada within the past 5 years)
- Indigenous youth
- Visible minorities / racialized youth
- LGBTQ2 youth
- Youth with disabilities
- Youth who have not previously been employed and for whom this would be their first job experience.
