Description

This position requires a solid foundation in the preparation and maintenance of assemblies and detailed drawings, computer aided design (CAD), and general computer skills.

Having experience in practical knowledge of the pressure equipment manufacturing process.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Preparation for assigned project assemblies and detailed drawings of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger, Air Cooled Heat Exchanger, Pressure Vessel, and preparation of other technical documents required to complete static equipment drafting package.
  • Independently complete the fabrication drawings in accordance with mechanical design calculation, project specifications, applicable codes, and manufacturing standards. Prepare Bill of Material in accordance with design calculation & fabrication drawings.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of all assigned tasks in accordance with the Altex Quality Control Manual, Altex Procedures and Policies, regulatory requirements, code requirements, customer requirements.
  • Supports Manufacturing Operation Departments to resolve fabrication related problems.
  • Followup on all assigned projects throughout the manufacturing process. This includes self directed shop walkdowns from fabrication start to delivery.
  • When performing workrelated duties, entrance to the workshop / yard may be required. In the workshop / yard space, there is potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, flying debris, welding arc‐flashes, heavy equipment movements, lifting and overhead hazards, extreme noise, and outside weather conditions. Wearing and using proper personal protective equipment is required.

Qualifications:


  • Excellent and highly efficient SolidWorks and AutoCAD skill.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting of pressure equipment including heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Understand the manufacturing process such as welding process, machining process, assembling process of pressure vessel, heat exchanger, and piping system.
  • General knowledge of the following Codes and Standards: ASME Section VIII, Div.1, TEMA, API Standards, ASME B31.3, ASME/ANSI Flange and Fitting Standards.
  • Strong work ethic characterized by integrity and selfmotivation.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced working environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts.

Education:


  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), or acceptable equivalent of education in an appropriate drafting program.

Work Environment:


Primarily Edmonton office based with frequent exposure to a fabrication shop environment and occasional travel to customer office / industrial sites.
