An Assistant Community Manager works alongside the Community Manager and plays a vital role in the efficient operation and management of our residential properties.

This multifaceted position encompasses various responsibilities, including mainly maintenance, janitorial, and life safety tasks with some administrative responsibilities and coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance & Groundskeeping Services:


  • Inspections:
  • Conduct daily inspections of common property areas inside and outside, identifying issues for prompt attention.
  • Inspect balconies, parking stall storage, and other common spaces.
  • Conduct regular inspections of parking areas to ensure compliance
  • Conduct semiannual inspections of occupied units
  • Keep the workshop organized and wellstocked with essential materials and parts.
  • Common Area Interior and Exterior Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean interior and exterior areas, promptly addressing litter, cigarette butts, and spills

Sweep, mop, clean:
floors, doors, windows, equipment

  • Perform necessary repairs, spot painting, recaulking, and minor building maintenance doing regular inspections.
  • Unit Turnover:
  • Coordinate with Manager, maintenance, and vendors to complete repairs
  • Paint, clean, and perform minor maintenance.
  • Occupied Unit Maintenance:
  • Manage resident service requests, scheduling repairs in accordance with relevant laws and company policies. Enact repairs as you are able.
  • Coordinate with inhouse maintenance and vendors to complete repairs
  • Expand your skills and knowledge of property maintenance
  • Emergency Maintenance:
  • Handle emergency maintenance tasks and promptly report issues to minimize common property damage.
  • Agree to be "oncall" on days agreed to in accordance with Arpeg policies.

Administration Services:


  • Administrative:
  • Familiarize yourself with laws, company policies, and best practices for the role.
  • Assist with additional tasks and projects as necessary possibly at other properties
  • Maintain an accurate daily calendar with hours worked.
  • Report any incidents that may result in company liability.
  • Database & Software:
  • Efficiently input service requests into Yardi, update notes, and record charges.
  • Familiarize yourself with all the databases, processes and software necessary for your role and to cover for the Community Manager as needed.
  • Resident Relations:
  • Act as a liaison for tenants, addressing their questions and concerns promptly.
  • Encourage tenants to submit maintenance requests through RENTCafé
  • Maintain a record of tenant interactions and unresolved concerns.
  • Perform thorough movein and moveout inspections.
  • Vendor Relations:
  • Familiarize yourself with each property vendor and their tasks.
  • Collaborate with vendors when required, ensuring smooth property operations.
  • Monitor and report on vendor schedules and work quality.

Life Safety:


  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual checks to ensure the safety and preparedness of the property for emergencies.
  • Coordinate and oversee annual fire drills to ensure residents' safety.

Company Policies:


  • Adhere to the company's policies, rules, systems, and procedures, which may evolve over time.

Hours of Work:


  • Commit to a work schedule of 3040 hours per week or as directed by the company.


The main objective of the Assistant Community Manager will be to undertake maintenance and support related tasks, and to assist with project related initiatives at our downtown Vancouver location.


COMPENSATION

  • Salary will be a minimum of $25 per hour with negotiation consistent for commensurate experience.
