| About the role


The Communications Specialist, Corporate Communications contributes to corporate communications strategies, with the goal of ensuring a consistent voice and coordinated message, strong overarching storyline and consistent visual representation across all digital channels and publications.


Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Specialist plays an integral role in both Payments Canada's internal and external communications effort.

In collaboration with team members, the incumbent develops, maintains and executes communications materials and platforms such as the intranet site, website and social media content (including creative assets), internal/external presentations, blog posts, brochures, bulletins, newsletters, etc.

This position also includes acting as a partner between Communications and internal/external clients and providing strategic advice and planning on the most effective means of dissemination of information to a variety of audiences through various channels.

| What you'll do


Responsibilities of the Communications specialist include:

  • In collaboration with others, lead the maintenance and content management of Payments Canada intranet
  • The Wire;
  • Plan, execute and evaluate the organizationwide annual internal communications strategy and associated plans and campaigns, based on the needs of business partners and the organization as a whole;
  • Provide communications guidance to internal clients, including planning, content writing and/or reviewing;
  • Lead the production of Payments Canada's Annual Report;
  • Develop and execute communications plans for external audiences;
  • Support in the maintenance of external website;
  • Contribute to media monitoring activities.
|Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field;
  • Four (4) years of experience in a communication team/department;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with marketing and communication platforms
  • Experience with corporate social media platforms;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with marketing and communication platforms (WordPress/Drupal/Bizzabo, MailChimp);
  • Ability to work irregular hours based on operational requirements;
  • Experience in developing written and creative materials in a range of formats for various audiences.
|Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in translation and/or revision management is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of the financial sector/payments systems is considered an asset.
| Salary Range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $78,031 and $97,539.
