Site Superintendent

Position Description:

We are currently looking for a highly skilled, caring, and safety focused individual for our Buttcon Central Team.

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Site Superintendent is responsible for the leading all daily field activities on construction site.

Under this role, will demonstrate leadership skills on the job site to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Here's What You'll be Responsible for:

Plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
Create and update 2 and 6week lookaheads independently without requiring the assistance of the Project Manager.
Create and log purchase orders for site material and equipment independently without requiring the assistance of the Project Manager
Supervision and direction of daytoday field activities and managing the construction site.
Be responsible for on site safety programs, WSIB poster, M.O.L. office phone number, and location of nearest hospital.
Ensure site office is equipped with proper first aid and eye wash station.
Setup site and maintain it to promote clean, tidy, and a professional image of the company.
Mobilize the site, hoarding/ fencing, setup trailers, washrooms, safety facilities, telephone, hydro, water, and stake out underground services.
Maintain site security at all times and be available for after hours site requirements during the construction phase.
Arrange for the Land Surveyor to lay out the building and site.
Ensure construction satisfies all permit requirements.
Advise the project team of any site conditions not previously identified.
Arrange Municipal Inspectors for required inspections.
Help prepare and maintain the project schedule.
Review and coordinate delivery dates of critical materials.
After the awarding of each subtrade, participate in scope clarification (buyout) meetings to ensure clear scope delineation during the construction phase. Contact the trade partner site representative to plan and schedule the work.
Maintain a log of weekly site inspections and tailgate meetings for safety auditing purposes.
Review and be knowledgeable with all contract documents.
Organize preconstruction meetings with each trade to ensure they have all contract documents and are familiar with all the requirements.
Direct foreman and tradesman in daily site activities.
Ensure all trades complete their scope of work to an acceptable standard.
Manage the Union issues on site and resolve disputers with subtrades.
Conduct safety and coordination meetings and prepare and distribute the meeting minutes.
Manage and maintain project costs within budget.
Prepare and submit job reports.
Prepare and file written records of all verbal communication and site occurrences.
