You will provide reception and administrative support to the DMO team and to individuals accessing the offices of the Deputy Minister, Minister and Parliamentary Assistant.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this position you will:
- answer telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and refer issues to appropriate staff
- open and log correspondence, and electronically track and distribute documents
- provide general administrative support to the office (e.g. administrative support; maintaining reception area/meeting rooms and office equipment; maintaining and ordering of office supplies)
How do I qualify?:
Mandatory requirement:
- You are proficient in English and in oral French at the advanced level.
Communication skills:
- You demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as customer service skills to efficiently handle receptionist and clerical responsibilities and deal with stakeholders, the public and different levels of ministry staff with judgement, tact, sensitivity and diplomacy.
Administrative skills:
- You have proven ability to manage incoming calls using a multiple phone line system to efficiently and effectively answer and/or redirect calls within established procedures and protocol.
Organizational skills:
- You have organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a high pressure environment, handle a variety of office responsibilities and a high volume of incoming correspondence and documents.
Judgement:
- You have proven tact and judgement to deal with contentious, sensitive and difficult situations and clients.
Computer skills:
- You demonstrate knowledge of a variety of software programs (e.g. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Correspondence Management System)
