WHAT'S THE JOB?
Join our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, the QC Inspector Co-op Student is responsible for working with multiple departments, mainly Production, in verifying that all requirements identified on all technical references are compliant.
Part of the role is to identify weaknesses of the process and provide recommendations and resolutions to put the process and product in conformance.
Your work will include:
- In conjunction with QC Inspectors and Supervisor, complete Quality Control (QC) inspections of products and processes at NRB production facilities and at customer sites.
- Work with QC Inspectors and Supervisor in adherence to legal obligations (health, safety, environment, and quality), codes, guidelines and client requirements.
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Liaise with other business units, departments, approving agencies, consultants, and client QA/QC as required.
- Participate during the evaluation of customer requirements for Design specifications against applicable code and regulatory requirements for construction and finished products as required.
- Audit inspection records of work performed by internal teams, subcontractors, consultants and third parties.
- Participate in and record client/consultant visits and/or audits.
- Report problems or concerns to immediate supervisor.
- Review inspections, evaluate reports, monitor known deficiencies to ensure Corrective Actions are followedup, completed and documented in a timely manner.
- Complete daily Job Hazard Assessments and Pre-Job Task Hazard Analysis forms.
- Attend Toolbox and Safety meetings as required.
Qualifications:
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- In process of a postsecondary education from an accredited university or college with a degree or diploma in Engineering, Environment, Quality or Safety, preferred.
- Practical experience or knowledge of relevant trade areas (Cabinetry, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing) is an asset.
- Familiar with the use of Provincial Code Books and Industry Quality Control Standards.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be flexible to travel.
