The RoleResponsibilities**- You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centred instruction. This course also includes a unit on working with DeafBlind people, and may include a week-long practical learning experience at a camp in Washington state from August 27 to September 1.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • A Bachelor's Degree. A Master's Degree or PhD is an asset.
  • Diploma or Degree from a recognized ASL-English Interpreter Education Program.
  • Completion of an instructor training program and/or teaching experience is an asset.
  • Minimum ten years experience working as an ASL-English interpreter.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language; may be determined by minimum Level 4.0 with the Sign Language Institute Canada ASL Proficiency Index
