JOB OVERVIEW

  • Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a business-focused, results-driven, and experienced leader to join its Supply Chain team in the role of Vice President Supply Chain Operations. Reporting to the Chief Supply Officer, the Vice President Supply Chain Operations holds a crucial position in planning, sourcing, and delivering Supply Services across the company's business units. The role includes overseeing all aspects of sourcing and planning, such as procurement, quality assurance, inspections, and performance reporting.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Contribute to strategic planning throughout OPG, collaborating closely with OPG leadership on commercial strategies and project planning across the business.
  • Ensure alignment of Supply Chain input with Enterprise strategies in purchasing decisions.
  • Establish and nurture client/partner relationships with Business Unit leaders and internal/external stakeholders of OPG.
  • Comprehend the business's supply requirements and develop long-term supply strategies and tactical plans to support the Enterprise's Business Partners.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors for sourcing initiatives and other commercial agreements across OPG and for all purchases serving Business Partners, including strategically aligning purchases, shipping, storage, and inventory management to support business plans, business unit costs, and financial implications on budgets.
  • Continually evaluate the state of the Supply Chain, its practices, personnel, IT solutions, and support for business partners.
  • Implement appropriate initiatives and programs to ensure continuous process enhancement, utilizing industry best practices, benchmarking, and assessments of business partners' needs.
  • Formulate and execute succession and development plans for all staff to assist organizations throughout the company.
  • Manage all supply-related Operations functions to uphold the daily operations of the generating stations (procurement, inspection upon receipt, vendor quality inspection, performance reporting, warehouse management, emergent customer response program, service desk, logistics).
  • Develop demand plans and provide daily guidance to procurement and sourcing staff to eliminate stockouts and establish stocking levels according to established parameters.
  • Evaluate vendor performance through relevant reporting and mechanisms, ensure the use and review of audit programs, and supervise material provided to users to enhance vendor quality and overall performance.
  • Engage in Supplier Relationship Management by employing consistent measures, communications, and best practices from an Enterprise perspective to support strategic vendor management at OPG.
  • Participate in strategic planning across OPG, especially with OPG leadership on commercial strategies and project planning for all business projects.
  • Interact as necessary with OPG Provincial and Federal Shareholder Relations and shareholder/government bodies.
  • Develop and implement strategies leading to master service agreements, Vendor of Records, and strategic commercial arrangements.
  • Establish a robust interface with Engineering and Asset demand groups to ensure integration and demand signals that support strategic procurement.
  • Oversee and execute inventory responsibilities to support the operating stations and meet annual inventory count requirements, aligning with OPG Finance's expectations.
