As Manager, Process Excellence you will be an integral member of the Innovation and Electoral Transformation team responsible for leading change for provincial electoral events across Ontario.

Naturally curious and always striving for better, you will help the leadership team and key stakeholders reveal opportunities and drive projects aimed at improving electoral operations and stakeholder experience.

Your sound analytical background, complemented with your process and design skills will help Elections Ontario deliver on its mission.


What to expect in this role


Reporting to the Director, Innovation and Electoral Transformation, you will drive, manage and mobilize the delivery of innovation and optimization initiatives throughout Elections Ontario.

Overall Role

  • Establish an innovation framework aimed at research, and develop the introduction of new processes, tools, tactics, best practices and technology to foster both continuous improvement and transformational change.
  • Be a practitioner and internal advocate for evidencebased innovation and change management for products and services directed at both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advisory, consultation and analytical services to the Executive, various committees, and other business units, and establish support systems for key initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with both internal and external groups including internal business units, field staff and other electoral management bodies.
Research and Analysis

  • Work with the Research & Insights team to analyze, synthesize, and measure operational performance using both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Contribute to proactive strategic foresight and horizon scanning efforts to support Elections Ontario's visioning of the future of elections.
  • Design and facilitate new organizational processes, focus groups, debrief meetings, and problemsolving sessions with a range of internal and external stakeholder groups including electors, Elections Ontario field staff and HQ staff.
Facilitating and communicating change

  • Prepare and present roadmaps, operational performance analyses and recommendations for strategies moving forward. This may look like presenting insights and recommendations by using process maps, user journeys, diagrams, and other visual aids.
  • Facilitate meetings and working group discussions with key stakeholders to prompt brainstorming, problem identification and insight derivation, producing options and outcomes for consideration by Executive.
Project management

  • Formulate and manage the rollout of prototype and pilot projects including onboarding meetings, project development, betatesting rounds and performance measurement, reporting on outcomes and recommending pathways forward.
  • Work with business partners to build project plans for implementing new strategies, processes or projects to achieve organizational goals and meet timelines and targets.
  • Manage and prioritize the future initiative backlog as a collection of potential enhancements and innovations that provincial elections could benefit from in the future.
  • Maintain the tactical and strategic roadmap for realizing Elections Ontario's longterm vision, and monitor discovery and innovation projects that align with the vision through the Ready Next Committee.
Administration

  • Support the Director, Innovation and Electoral Transformation in chairing both Ready Next and Accessibility Committee meetings, managing the agendas for these meetings, bringing research, trends and insights from the division, and designing various activities and approaches that facilitate each committee's achievement of its mandate.
  • Manage a small team of 24 staff, aligning their unit deliverables with the broader goals of the division and the organization.
