Job Description:


Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI's Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places' capabilities, and CRTKL's multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.


At Arcadis, you will be an integral member of a diverse network of design professionals who value collaboration, fresh insight, and bold talent.


We are searching for a Planner to join our Vancouver office team and provide professional planning services to public and private sector clients, working closely with our large-scale institutional and high-rise residential teams.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and coordinate reports, rationales, narratives, in support of development proposals; lead/support the preparation of proposals and other related business development activities
  • Provide guidance on approvals processes and conduct background research (policy, case studies, best practices, etc.);
  • Interpret planning policy
  • Coordinate presentations or other materials for public meetings, open houses, and workshops in support of a variety of planning projects; attend client meetings, local government meetings, council or committee meetings and events as required
  • Prepare agendas, draft minutes, coordinate logistics, project deliverables, and other documentation for project meetings.

Qualifications:


Qualifications and Experience:


  • A postsecondary degree in Planning recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners
  • A minimum of two years professional planning experience including some experience working with architects and multidisciplinary teams, knowledge of urban planning and design, and municipal planning and development approvals processes
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills to be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and evaluation skills
  • Software skills: High proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); proficiency with Adobe suite (InDesign, Photoshop) is an asset
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 per year.
