The West Vancouver Engineering Construction Department is looking for a motivated and committed Pipefitter to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to one of the Utilities Construction Foreman, the key responsibilities for this position includes:

Skilled manual work in the performance of specialized pipe laying as applied to mainline and service connections for water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer
Setting thrust blocks, installing hydrants and valves
Ensuring proper installation of fittings, and wet and dry pipe tapping
Experience in GIS map reading, reading and understanding of design drawings, using utility locating equipment, and completing record drawings
Assigning and checking the work of junior positions engaged in related but less skilled tasks
Taking charge of the crew in the absence of the Foreman
Performing other duties as required
General knowledge and use of a laptop
