About Us:

Metro Compactor Service was established in 1978 and is Canada's leading expert in Waste and Recycling Equipment solutions. We are looking for a full time _Electrical Technician_
_ _to join our in-shop production team.

Hours: 7am - 3:30pm

What You'll Do
This is a permanent position.

Specific Duties

Troubleshoot and fix control panels.
Run wire, install and trouble shoot all aspects of the electrical system as per schematics
Installing, wiring, and testing of control panels
PLC upgrades, downloads, and basic modifications
Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic components _ you will be trained in hydraulics_

- _o Includes mounting hydraulic cylinders, making hydraulic hoses, replace hydraulic pumps and filling hydraulic oil.

Analyzes work orders and wiring blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
Maintain tidy and safe work area
Report any unsafe conditions or concerns to Supervisor

1. 2+ years of experience hands-on experience with panels and sensor components

Electrical wiring, commissioning, and repair on panel
Experience working with various components such as: Safety interlocks, Ultrasonic sensors, Photoeyes, Pressure Transducers, Solenoids, Relays, limit switches and motor control
Ability to read and understand electrical circuit drawings to properly install, diagnose, repair, and replace various parts and components.
Experience working with hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, voltmeters, hammers, and wrenches
PLC commissioning (upgrades, downloads, and basic modifications)
At Metro we work with Allen Bradley & Schneider PLCs

As Asset If You Have:

Previous working experience in hydraulic systems
Ability to operate a forklift

_ _would be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds
Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job.
