Role Responsibilities
Alberta Transportation manages more than 30,000 km of highways. Would you enjoy the challenge of using your pavement design knowledge to help guide the selection of the right pavement treatments on the right roads at the right time?
Reporting to the Surfacing Standards Specialist of the Pavement Engineering section, this position assists in the development, monitoring and updating of structural pavement engineering standards and specifications for the Department. The position is responsible for analyzing pavement design strategies for highway rehabilitation projects and providing guidance and direction to consultants in producing cost-effective and optimized pavement designs consistent with Department standards. The position also keeps abreast of technological advancements and innovations related to pavement design, rehabilitation, and preservation for adoption by the Department.
Through strong communication and interpersonal skills, the successful candidate will provide technical knowledge and support related to pavement design and construction to other areas within the Department and promote partnerships with the Department's pavement design consultants.
