    Description

    Join our design team in Edmonton for an exciting opportunity as Design Engineer. With a minimum of one experience designing equipment's and/or artificial lift products, you will be required to re-focus priorities changes and still deliver quality work.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY:

    • Design safe, cost-effective and customer-focused equipment in 3D or 2D environments with an emphasis on quality and on-time delivery. Candidate will work closely with design engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure that designs are manufacturable and robust.
    • Generate, check and approve assembly & machining drawings, engineering procedures/specifications and bill of materials as directed by supervisor or as needed by projects.
    • Assist with the redesigning of various parts and assemblies for cost effectiveness and improved performance.
    • Analyze data to determine feasibility or product proposal for inside and outside sales team.
    • Inputs technical data on various software platforms to generate manufacturing and customer documents.
    • Works with manufacturing group in the implementation of engineering change orders for product sustaining and continual improvement activities.
    • Assists in R&D activities through the testing, repair, assembly and disassembly of mechanical components.
    • Completes test documentation and reports; performs special customer-viewed dismantle inspection and provides documentation as required.
    • Create, check and approve product manuals and design files for the product lines. Provide necessary calculations required on new and existing designs as required by the project.
    • Ensure design documentation is accurate and up to date. Function effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • Performs other work-related tasks as assigned.
    • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

    MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a design role - Internship and capstone project will be considered
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD would be considered an asset
