Job Summary:


The
Yard Labourer in
Nisku, Alberta is responsible for all materials handling functions in the Tuboscope pipe yard, including loading, offloading and storage of customer inventory.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Duties associated with unloading pipe from trucks and/or rail cars, including but not limited to: using hands and/or basic equipment to unload pipe, collaring pipe, using crowbar to push and/or pull pipe to tighten rack, and tallying joints of pipe
  • Duties associated with loading pipe onto trucks and/or rail cars, including but not limited to: using hands and/or basic equipment to move pipe from storage rack and load onto truck and/or rail car
  • Duties associated with the storage of pipe, including, but not limited to 'tieringup' pipe on storage racks using basic equipment such as crow bars and 2X4's
  • Under the direction and supervision of the Yard Foreman, will maintain storage racks and storage areas
  • Guide loaders and operators using hand signals
  • Inspect pipe & threads
  • May be assigned responsibility of Designated Labourer, which will include additional responsibilities of supervising the activities of the work team, but will not include authority to take disciplinary measures
  • Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Participate in training programs as required by the company
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:


  • High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
  • No work experience required
  • Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures

HSE Requirements:


  • Yard environment, and working outdoors. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature/humidity
  • Physical requirements: squatting, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 23 kilograms, reaching, twisting, climbing, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment
  • Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner
