Purpose
The Team Lead (TL) provides leadership and support to Community Specialists and participants for assigned programs and reports to the Program Supervisor.
This role will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals and meeting assigned outcomes.The contentious TL acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and puts forth an extraordinary effort to empower people with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.
Key Functions- Leads, manages, and holds Community Specialists accountable
- Informs, supports, trains, mentors, leads and oversees direct care from staff
- Understands and clearly communicates policies and processes to staff and families
- Lead program delivery, ensuring meaningful days and purposeful support
- Identifies and solves problems, building staff capacity in difficult situations
- Develops and fosters genuine relationships promoting dignity
- Conducts general administration, followups, documentation and reporting duties
- Provides inthemoment and situation coaching
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services (or equivalent)
- 2 years of experience in related field or life experience (supporting a family member)
- 1 year handson supervisory experience working with individuals with complex behaviors
- Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
- Standard First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required
- Clean class 5 driver's license and vehicle required
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Medication Administration, Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol are an asset
This is a temporary, full time position from June 19, 2023 to August 25, 2023 that requires flexible hours. Shifts are scheduled between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant from the Government of Canada, which requires that the employee must be between 15 and 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.
Compensation Package:
Hourly Rate:
$23.50 to $24.88 (Based on experience and education)
