THE ROLE


Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the parts department of the branch, including personnel, procedures and inventories located at the branch, in parts vans and on consignment.

Implement parts policies and programs. Monitor and manage parts consignments at customer locations. Coordinate and train personnel.

Reporting to this position are any of the following positions:
Parts Customer Care Representative, Field Parts Associate, and Parts Warehouse Clerk.


KEY TASKS

  • Conduct meetings with parts personnel to coordinate activities and discuss issues.
  • Coordinate parts department activities with service and sales departments.
  • Conduct and participate in parts strategy meetings. Confer with Branch Manager or Service & Parts Manager concerning parts department performance.
  • Coordinate activities related to parts among Sales Managers, Service Manager and used equipment sales/leasing/rental/loan activities.
  • Set parts inventory levels and review periodically. Monitor overstocked and understocked parts and modify order levels as appropriate. Establish and monitor parts consignments at selected accounts.
  • Review and modify departments operating procedures as necessary.
  • May oversee parts fleet vehicle maintenance.
  • Oversee periodic return of overstocked items to factory.
  • Oversee parts orders from vendors. May review and/or approve some or all invoices from vendors and to customers.
  • May complete transactions/adjustments such as credit memos in inventory system.
  • Conduct periodic part inventory audits and reconciliations and coordinate with accounting.
  • Maintain direct contact with current or prospective customers at end user locations. Participate in customer service for key accounts.
  • Train, develop and counsel direct reports. Conduct training on products and procedures with individuals and groups.
  • Review time and attendance of personnel on a regular basis.
  • Make compensation recommendations on and communicate compensation decisions to all direct reports. Participate in any complex personnel situation, such as a termination.
  • Review parts revenue and cost projections. Assist in budget preparation with Branch Manager and revise as necessary.
  • Track department financial performance, identify variances and take appropriate actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOW HOW & EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in Parts supervision (preferred)
  • Twoyear college diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and vehicles/service vans
  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, & Word experience
  • Web Browser and general PC experience
  • Able to work within a team
  • Demonstrated excellent problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to establish priorities in a fastpaced environment
