    About the opportunity

    The Department of Finance at the Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University, invites applications for a twelve-month limited-term appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, starting August 1, 2024 (negotiable).

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and a dedication to student success, while upholding values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching introductory finance and quantitative courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. This is a one-year position with no guarantee of future roles.

    Required qualifications, experience, and skills
    -
    A PhD or Masters degree in a relevant field an MBA), or equivalent professional accreditation;
    - Established record of teaching excellence in relevant courses, and promise of teaching excellence in the case of early career individuals or individuals outside of academia;

    Preferable qualifications, experience, and skills

    or equivalent, or equivalent professional accreditation and professional experience of at least 5 years;
    - Evidence of efforts to foster safer spaces for equity-deserving groups;

    Experience teaching larger introductory undergraduate courses;

    Experience with online teaching and pedagogical innovation.

    The Department of Finance is home to eight full-time faculty members who work collegially to accomplish our goals. Our faculty distinguish themselves as authors who deploy a range of research methods that result in high-quality publications in different marketing outlets.
