Agricorp is looking for a
Team Leader, Risk Management & Program Audit to join the Risk Management Unit in the Corporate Services division.

Agricorp's Risk Management Unit is a dynamic, professional team responsible for emerging and strategic risk management, program audits, reinsurance, and execution and monitoring of risk management strategies for the organization.

This position will assist the Manager, Risk Management in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Program Audit group as well as reporting and providing support in various risk management activities.


The Role:


Reporting to the Manager, Risk Management, the Team Leader, provides leadership to a group of program audit professionals to ensure productive and coordinated performance of program audits and supports the development and maintenance of both the program audit risk management strategy and corporate risk management strategies.


In overseeing the Program Audit team, this position will review program payment decision audits, provide day-to-day functional direction, audit expertise, and on-the-job training/coaching to all levels of Program Auditors, and develop risk based approaches to best identify and select high risk audits.

Additionally, the Team Leader, may be required on occasion to conduct/coordinate the audit fieldwork for the more complex audits.


Through developing and supporting of various divisional and corporate risk management activities, this position will provide insight and support in the purchase strategy of reinsurance and assist in the development of broader corporate risk management activities.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, training and performance reviews for a team of Program Auditors
  • Work with the manager to develop systems and processes (SOPs) for effective program audits for use by the audit team.
  • Provide quality reviews and on the job training to address development and gaps in the Program Auditor's work
  • Responsible for a wide range of complex program audits requiring senior level knowledge and experience which include preaudit assessments, auditing techniques, analysis, and recommendation/report preparation
  • Establish, lead and communicate the annual program audit plan
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate reporting for Senior Management and Board of Directors of audit results tracking and trending to support effective decisionmaking
  • Work with the Manager, Risk Management and Agricorp's reinsurance brokers to support the annual purchase of reinsurance
  • Assist in maintaining the corporate Risk Management Policy, analysis of historical reinsurance results and training materials for the Board as well as reporting to government partners
  • Assisting in the annual risk assessment and maintenance of the risk management framework
  • Work with the Manager, Risk Management in the development and implementation of corporate risk management strategies
  • Establish and maintains strong working relationships throughout the organization including with management, Senior Management Team and members of the Enterprise Risk Assessment Committee (ERAC)
  • Resolve other highly complex, high risk, and unprecedented issues as required

Job band 9: $85,761 - $100,895**
Work status: Full time in office, remote and hybrid work arrangements are available**

Qualifications:


  • Accounting designation required CPA or equivalent audit experience
  • University undergraduate degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years related professional experience in auditing, including leading audits
  • Experience as a team leader or supervisor of audit/finance professionals
  • Experience providing work direction, coaching, performance reviews and development
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating sensitive findings and recommendations to diverse and senior audiences
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in risk management activities is an asset
  • Experience in reinsurance is an asset
  • Experience in agricultural sector, public sector, insurance industry an asset
