The individual that holds a Level Two Early Childhood Educator Certification complies with the goals and curriculum, plans of the Centre, the philosophy and policies of the agency, and in strict accordance with the Early Childcare Act of Alberta and the local Department of Health and Safety.

The Level Two Early Childhood Educator at Wee Wild Ones is a leader to other educators and reports to the Executive Director and Program Director


Responsibilities & Objectives

Childcare

  • Image of the child is positive
  • Demonstrates an above and beyond commitment to the development and safety of children in our care
  • Follows Reggio Emilia inspired learning and Flight Framework, as well as nature and movement focused curriculum in collaboration with and as set forth by the Program Director(s)
  • Follows Guidelines for Student Care
  • Ensures accurate child attendance and recordkeeping
  • Communicates problems concerning children with the Director(s)
  • Obtains Level One Early Childhood Educator Certification

Team

  • Supports Educators and Program Leads in daily operations and coverage
  • Works in a collaborative and teamoriented manner
  • Builds and maintains appropriate and professional relationships with coworkers

Families

  • Builds and maintains appropriate relationships with parents and an open environment of communication regarding their child's development

Operations

  • Adheres to licensing/Alberta Health policies and procedures
  • Supports in the maintenance of classroom materials, toys, and provocations for learning, disposing of broken materials when necessary
  • Follows center policies and scheduling rules
  • Familiar with all emergency procedures

Self-Management

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures including: Employee Handbook, Family Guide, and Educator Guide
  • Shows up to center on time, ready and excited to work with a positive attitude
  • Exercises selfawareness and uses appropriate behavior management
  • Receives feedback with a growth mindset and is committed to continuous development
  • Maintains appropriate interactions with children and adults, inside and outside of the facility
  • Demonstrates proper selfhygiene

Culture & Sustainability

  • Participates in centerled community initiatives
  • Adheres to center standards for sustainability
