YOUR CONTRIBUTION
Your line of report will be the
Project Finance Controller.

Upon your arrival, you will support domestic and international projects (from pre-feasibility to execution stage) by assisting Enerkem's
Project Finance Management and
Accounting team in a variety of selected tasks related to the field of project monthly follow-up (Revenue and Cost recognition) and invoicing, which include not only the preparation and issuing of monthly statements and invoices, processing of credit memos, general invoices' monitoring and tracking, project working hours and charging rates maintenance, but also involvement in the annual Budgeting and Forecasting procedures as well as in the annual standard cost calculation.

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact actively and work closely with project team and commercial department in delivering relevant financial information and submittals.
  • Review cost and billing reports to ensure proper management of cost codes, contract items, charge out rates, and markups.
  • Implement cost control measures, perform reconciliation on a regular basis, and provide reporting when required.
  • Prepare prebilling reports and invoice statements for relevant internal stakeholders to review.
  • Focus on project invoicing and AR optimization.
  • Produce clear and concise cost and cash flow reports.
  • Understand compliance requirements for various projects and financially analyze prospective projects.
  • Participate in the annual Budgeting and regular Forecasting process.
  • Calculate annual standard costing and monitor it on a regular basis versus actuals.
  • Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.
  • Exercise judgement in utilizing established procedures to complete tasks.
  • Support Project Finance Controller and Finance Reporting Manager on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support accounting activities (audit file, reports and dashboards, special reports).

Qualifications:


YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting designation (or working towards one) is considered a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 35 years of relevant functional experience (experience in a project / construction / engineering firm considered an asset)

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Experience with project billing
  • Understand general business interfaces/processes related to procurement, engineering, operations, and accounting.
  • Very good command of Excel and sustained experience with ERP and Business Intelligence tools (i.e Power Bi).
  • Ability to analyze information, determine discrepancies, and resolve issues.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to interact with various hierarchical levels, versatility and teamwork.
  • Sense of urgency and adaptability in a changing environment to deadlines and timesensitive requirements.
  • Good communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English, both oral and written.
