Northumberland Child Development Centre

20 hours per week

$25.00 per hour

Northumberland Child Development Centre is a multi service organization supporting children, youth and families since 1979.

Our dedicated team of professionals believes strongly in family centred service delivery and is committed to innovative models of support and excellence.


The Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) and the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) provide peer support groups and parenting education for expectant women living in condition of risk and families of children 0-6 experiencing challenging life circumstances including poverty, social and geographical isolation, family violence etc.


Key Responsibilities of the CAPC/CPNP Program Coordinator

  • Organize and deliver regular peer support groups in three areas of Northumberland County
  • Implement activities in group designed to meet program objectives, including nutritional education with food preparation
  • Complete and maintain participant documentation and files
  • Complete program reports and data collection
  • Connect group participants to community services and resources
  • Monitor the development of children participating in the program
  • Develop and maintain service delivery partnerships with other service providers, community organizations and businesses
  • Develop and promote the program within Northumberland County, engaging with potential participants and community partners
  • Participate in community service planning
  • Nonjudgmental, accepting, flexible and supportive
  • 2 years experience working with vulnerable families
  • 2 years experience facilitating adult support groups
  • Experience in program and partnership development, budget planning
  • Education and Training in Child Development, Social Work, Community Health or related field (Degree preferred)
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
