Responsibilities:

Client & Project Quotation Activity

  • Initiate and support project definition and procurement
  • Defining the scope of various projects
  • Providing project quotes and initiating new projects
  • Participating and initiating project related meetings with various planning commissions and site meetings
  • Providing client status updates
  • Addressing client issues, and escalating issues to the VP of Energy as required for resolution
  • Ensuring invoicing and WIP reporting for each client and project are both timely, accurate and in alignment with the project and progress
  • Complete large Client autonomy, building and supporting ongoing client relationship(s)
  • Business Development support and the regular and autonomous initiation of client best practices/ optimization and business procurement
Field Survey Direction

  • Liaise with Field Crew Managers to ensure projects and field resources are aligned
  • Define field work project scope including potential risks and complications associated with working in the area
  • Define client scope and considerations for field survey work (site managers, safety managers, orientations etc.) for Field Crew Managers
  • Provide technical support for Field Crews where the Field Manager is unable to answer job specific questions/concerns
  • Oversee data processing as required, and review completed field work to ensure the quality and scope of the survey is in alignment with GRSI standards
  • Support ongoing process improvement for GRSI field survey standards and procedures, providing regular feedback to the Field Crew managers, supporting their role in survey quality and employee training
Drafting (CAD) and General Project Oversight

  • Support GRSI CAD Operators and Managers outlining deadlines, deliverables, and job specific circumstances
  • Quality Assurance and plan checking, as required
  • Provide timelines, and participate in the assignment of drafting for optimization of CAD Operator skills set(s)
  • File finalization and signing of legal plans
General Leadership and Governance

  • Provide guidance and oversight for GRSI Project Managers
  • Support the Business Development Division with client procurement & largescale RFP activity
  • Represent GRSI at various industry and client related functions as requested by the Business Development Division
  • Support and initiate local business initiatives
  • Maintain and communicate with GRSI Senior Leadership a working knowledge of local competitors and their respective hiring, product, work area and client service standards
  • Support, and participate in the initiation of appropriate corporate Division directives and overall GRSI business strategies
  • Represent GRSI within local professional associations
  • Represent GRSI company standards and processes within the branch and ensure their compliance and communication
  • Initiate branch meetings and ensure the ongoing alignment between the branch and the overall GRSI standards for conduct, processes and procedures
  • Conduct the semiannual performance reviews of all Project Managers, and Field Managers within the Branch
  • Provide input, and/or conduct, where appropriate into the semiannual performance reviews for all indirect reports
  • Oversee the discipline, hiring and ongoing development of all branch GRSI employees
  • Ensure the hiring, training and orientation processes associated with Branch employees are reflective of the company standards and expectations
  • Actively participate in SLA. ALS and CLS activities to support industry growth and personal development
  • Support and/or Mentor Articling Student(s)
  • Maintain personal development and retraining requirements associated with professional designations

Candidacy:
Internal or External hire

  • Probationary & Company Orientation Period 6 months
  • Progress/ probation checkin meeting at 3 months

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Proven ability to leverage technology and virtual communication tools

Qualifications:

  • Commissioned as a SLS, ALS or CLS
