We are seeking Supervisor Business Development to join an outstanding team


This role requires a high degree of business, negotiation, and BD transactions experience as it is responsible for Business Development (BD) initiatives for both regulated and unregulated low carbon initiatives for Enbridge's distribution customers.


Supervisor Business Development will be leading a team of highly motivated individuals to bring value through the expansion of our portfolio of energy products and services to support a sustainable lower carbon future while preserving and expanding our natural gas distribution system.


What You Will Do:

  • Identify and complete M&A and BD opportunities through preparation of initial business case, long term strategic rationale, and capital appropriation memo to get executive approval.
  • Develop and lead the establishment financial objectives, strategies and activities of the Business team to meet corporate capital targets and improve EBITDA for the Company
  • Advance the BD team's abilities through coaching, mentorship, relationship building, open communication and collaboration on various topics such as negotiating agreements, transaction origination and business case preparation.
  • Achieve operational objectives by supplying information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, safety and customerservice standards; resolving problems; completing audits and due diligence; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Develop, maintain and foster relationships with diverse counterparties and customers through the development, execution and operational phases of a program.
  • Work with investment review, finance and treasury to determine program financial viability, plan and deployment of the appropriate metrics (Regulatory, Rates, financial structuring etc.) to measure success.
  • Work with legal and risk management to structure contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Be an ambassador and enhance department and Enbridge's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing specified outcomes and fostering a culture of customer centric focus, innovation, continuous improvement, leadership and collaboration.

Required:

  • University degree in Business, Commerce, Economics or Engineering with seven or more years of directly related proven experience.
  • Positive relationship building and leadership skills with both internal and external parties.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to promote teamwork and cooperation within a group.
  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills. Is able to listen and understand as well convey sophisticated concepts in concise manner
  • Continuous focus on improvement, change management and conflict resolution.
  • Analytical skills with an ability to work under pressure prioritizing multiple tasks while meeting target dates.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling and BD transactions including JVs, limited partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Passion for upholding Enbridge's core values of Safety, Integrity, Respect, and Inclusion along with our ways of working.

Preferred:

  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Willingness to listen to clients and stakeholders to support a customer centric organization

  • Occasional travel to other office, field locations or external client's location.
