Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer.Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services.
Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada.In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound freight while staying abreast of daily priorities and weekly transportation targets
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures
Coordinate delivery routes for Dairy Lane drivers
Communicate with brokers, carriers and customers to resolve any discrepancies
Direct and organize logistics activities such as obtaining shipment rates, negotiating with logistics service providers, tracking and expediting shipments, and solving any discrepancy of quality, quantity, and schedule
Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation
Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers
Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards
Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury
Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
Comply with all company procedures and regulations
Work in the elements, often the workday may require you to be outdoors working in all weather conditions
Forklift operation
Physically able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stoop, twist, kneel; some loads require physical labour to ensure they are secure to move
Willing to assist loading and unloading trucks/trailers and complete all necessary paperwork/documents
Move equipment and product as required
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where your workday will rarely be the same but will always be exciting
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in transportation
Experience in creating customs documents is an asset
Supervisory experience an asset
Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction
Must be able to work unsupervised and take complete ownership of the job
Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with coworkers and managers
Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping
Strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of a high-performing team
Flexibility and adaptability are required as the work environment priorities can change frequently
A sense of urgency and ability to take initiative are necessary in this position
Basic computer skills
Forklift license will be required - training can be provided
Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record and your own vehicle we are not located on a public transit route
