Why this role is important:
Do you enjoy working on a team that is a mix of Product and Inventory, as well as a team that can have a large impact to the success of the business? Do you enjoy making decisions by diving into data and patterns? If so, this Assistant Manager role is the job for you

You will play a direct role in managing the tactical decisions to manage inventory across our 200 stores.

This role primarily works with mobile handsets, inventory that is high in cost and short in life and therefore decisions made can have a profound impact to the business.


What You'll Do:

  • Assist in the management of inventory across our 200+ "The Mobile Shop" locations and our warehouse.
  • Complete forecasting for multiple telecom carriers based on sales trends and current market conditions.
  • Prepare and manage biweekly meetings with our vendors and keeping continuous communication with these partners based on current needs.
  • Prepare purchase orders for direct to store inventory fulfilment across our 200 stores.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute weekly inventory reports and utilize these reports to guide business decisions.
  • Resolve store queries via a ticketing process.
  • Create presentations for weekly meetings with the Product team and our executives.
  • Participate in discussions with regional support teams for direction and feedback.
  • Manage and communicate all product listings and delistings to our stores.
  • Manage regular inventory count processes across all stores.
  • Maintain documentation of all standard operating procedures and update as required.
  • Evaluate weekly store availability and support distribution of handsets.
  • Other operational tasks as required.

What You'll Need:

  • University degree with a specialization in Business, Commerce or Supply Chain.
  • 23 years of relevant experience, preferably in operations, procurement, inventory, or Telecommunications.
  • Understanding of forecasting, inventory management and procurement would be an asset.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator and a desire to improve processes.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and solve problems raised by stores.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and oral presentation skills.
  • Experience in a retail environment.
