About the Team and the Role


OPTrust's Sustainable Investing and Innovation team (SII) was established in 2020 as part of OPTrust's Investment Division and has a three-fold mandate.

The first is to lead the organization's responsible investing (RI) program and continually improve the integration of RI principles across the Investment Division.

The second is to oversee the delivery and strategic evolution of OPTrust's Climate Change Strategy, released in 2022.

The third is to build out an investment program to put capital to work in innovative areas that support OPTrust's long-term sustainability, starting with investments in private market funds focused on climate opportunities.

What You'll Do- Provide overall project support to OPTrust's climate change strategy and other responsible investing (RI) initiatives, and calendaring and other administrative support to the SII team- Coordinate the production of meeting materials, reports and presentations, and prepare minutes for internal committee and team meetings- Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, service providers and other inquiries, and ensuring alignment with corporate policies- Assist in ensuring project and investment files are accurate and well-maintained- Stay engaged in responsible investment industry information, and related financial and pension industry trends, issues and regulatory developments and prepare briefing materials and/or articles- Support integration of RI and climate change priorities into educational and other HR activities- Support the team's budget planning and monitoring and periodic compliance-related activities- Take an active role in contributing to other SII and OPTrust initiatives as required

What You Bring- Experience working in an office environment in administrative or project focused role, with success in coordinating multiple projects and/or teams- University or college degree is an asset or equivalent years of experience- Knowledge of responsible investing, and/or the wider investment and/or pension industry is a plus- Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills- Demonstrated experience in client services with a demonstrated ability to forge relationships with internal and external partners- Experience in reviewing and summarizing materials- Commitment to the values of OPTrust, including the ability to demonstrate impact made in your community or workplace- Proven experience with Microsoft Office particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
