Job Description:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team,
Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm and every other Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

As a Crane Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient handling of metal materials within our recycling facility.

Your primary responsibility will be to operate a crane to lift, move, and position metal materials, supporting the overall operations and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

This position requires strong crane operation skills, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Safely operate a crane to lift, move, and position metal materials within the facility, ensuring accurate and efficient material handling
  • Lift and transport metal materials using the crane's attachments, such as magnets or grapples, and safely place them in designated areas or processing equipment
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using the crane, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure attachment of the materials
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Conduct pre
- and post-operation inspections of the crane and report any mechanical issues or required maintenance to the supervisor

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel to coordinate operations, ensure efficient material flow, and address any safety or operational concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including material weights, equipment maintenance logs, and any other required documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the crane, including lubrication, inspection of cables and hooks, and reporting any defects or issues for timely repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, ensuring proper storage of attachments, removal of debris, and safe movement of equipment.
  • Follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of accidents, malfunctions, or other emergencies, prioritizing the safety of personnel and equipment

Qualifications:


  • Valid crane operator's license or certification
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience operating cranes in an industrial or recycling environment (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of crane operation principles, techniques, and safety procedures
  • Familiarity with metal recycling processes, materials, and specifications is advantageous
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including extended periods of standing, operating controls, and lifting heavy objects
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and the ability to accurately position and handle different types of metal materials
  • Ability to interpret load charts, blueprints, and instructions related to crane operation
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to crane operation, rigging, and material handling
  • Familiarity with various crane attachments, such as magnets or grapples
