Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Specialist for our Measurement Instrumentation (MI) Business Unit in Calgary.

You have proven your ability to work effectively in a Team environment achieving long term, mutually beneficial customer relationships through existing & new business.

You will be involved with the planning and creation of Measurement Instrumentation growth.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Work with and represent our 3 MI Business Unit's products and services as an "All-MI TSS" for Measurement, Flow, and Remote Automation.
  • Work closely with Account, Territory and Sales Managers to understand Customer needs and deliver creative solutions to solve their unique business challenges relating to Measurement Instrumentation
  • Provide technical sales support to an assigned group of customer accounts
  • Work to become an expert (technology champion) in a narrow range of measurement technologies
  • Develop account leadership through effective strategic account planning/development and commitment to building strong Customer relationships.
  • Champion key initiatives on behalf of the MI Business
  • Drive growth and deliver bookings goals for the Business Unit
  • Build and maintain relationships with our Principal Suppliers (e.g. Emerson); understanding their products, services, business strategies, and sales strategies
  • Engage with all aspects of the delivery of Spartan and our Principal's delivery, to ensure customer satisfaction and continued Spartan preference
  • Create market and customer awareness, understanding, and preference for Spartan's product and service portfolio
  • Support MI and our multibusiness unit solution development
  • Support our Application Sales team (Inside Sales)
  • Support customer agreement and pricing development
  • Support and participate in various Industry Association conferences, schools, and training seminars

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related discipline, or a Technical Diploma
  • 4+ years related industry experience
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Demonstrated Customer Service and Sales in an industrial environment
  • Strong technical problem solving skills
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs; outlook calendar, Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Positive team contributor and collaborator
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Valid driver's license and passport, as travel is required
