About the Role:


Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager at Stonehenge Therapeutic Community, the Human Resources Assistant will assist in overseeing the administrative aspect of the HR function.

As Stonehenge is a small and progressive employer, this role will wear many hats, and they will work in many of the areas of Human Resources.

Full Time


Hours of Work: 35/wk, M-Fri

Qualifications:


  • Completion of Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration; alternative education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 1 year progressive experience in an administrative role with a focus on Human Resources
  • Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and Health and Safety legislation required
  • Completion of JHSC training and certification an asset
  • Superior computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office required
  • Experience working in a not for profit environment is an asset
  • Experience with PolicyTech or similar electronic policy management tools an asset
  • Knowledge of PHIPA, PIPEDA, and/or other privacy legislation/processes an asset
  • Experience working in social service or healthcare settings an asset
  • Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset

Role Responsibilities:


  • Recruitment Coordination_
  • Update online job posting requirements
  • Arrange interviews with Leadership Team
  • Participate in panel interviews when needed
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Support onboarding process through documentation management (file compliance)
  • Represent organization at community and recruiting events
  • Student Placement Coordination_
  • Liaise with the Leadership Team to determine capacity to host placement students
  • Maintain relationships with college and university field placement coordinators
  • Recruit and screen, potential students; support in arranging interviews
  • Arrange orientation for incoming placement students; Ensure file compliance Followup with students to ensure completion of end of placement evaluation
  • Administrative Support_
  • Ensure ongoing employee file compliance and document management through the Agency's HRIS
  • Support topic specific orientation and onboarding activities with new staff, and in absence of the Human Resources Manager
  • In cooperation with the Leadership team, support the "offboarding" process
  • With direction from the HR Manager, update HR related documentation (recruitment related documentation, training checklists)
  • Provide administrative support for the Agency's policy and training platforms where required
  • Maintain the Incident Report (IR) tracker for all nonclinical IRs; maintain regular IR reporting per policy standards
  • Attend regular Administrative Team meetings
  • Complete other HR projects and duties as assigned by the HR Manager
  • Health and Safety Support_:
  • Participate as an active member of the H&S committee
  • Collaborate with Logistics to support the Agency's Personal Protective Equipment program (inventory management)
  • Assist Operations/Logistics with H&S related audits and inspections
  • Organize and/or facilitate staff training required to maintain compliance with H&S regulations
