Description
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner will provide support to the maintenance department and ensure that all preventative maintenance programs, projects, and day to day activities are planned, scheduled, and coordinated as required to optimize production runs and minimize downtime.
This position will be accountable for maintenance planning, scheduling and inventory control always considering safety guidelines, quality, and cost control.

Coordinate, schedule, and plan all maintenance activities (preventative maintenance, plant shutdown, and maintenance preparation).
Maintain all aspects for Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Purchase maintenance supplies, parts, chemicals, and materials.
Maintain and establish professional relationships with existing and new vendors and contractors, setting up vendor-stock inventory and coordinate planned contract work.
Required training and experience~ Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or other equivalent technical program.
~Experience supervising and coordinating contractors in food manufacturing industry.
~ Technical background and thorough knowledge of mechanical maintenance work processes and preventative maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the food and beverages industry).
~ Knowledge of industrial standards, occupational health and safety, and quality standards (an asset).
~ Previous exposure to millwright/electrical requirements and PLC programming (an asset).
~ Prior experience as a Maintenance Technician (an asset).
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office, AutoCAD, Computerized Maintenance Management System, and other integrated computer software.
