Lactation Consultant


Location:
Milton & Burlington, ON


Role Overview:

The WOMB is looking for an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant to join our growing team.

The lactation consultant is responsible for providing evidence-based, comprehensive breastfeeding and bottle feeding education, counselling, and support services for mothers, babies, and families.


Responsibilities:


  • Assess and document maternal and infant health and infant feeding goals
  • Provide infant feeding education and counselling to healthcare providers, families, and the community
  • Identify and refer clients other WOMB practitioners (ie. Osteopathy)
  • Teach infant feeding classes and workshops (ie. The WOMB's infant feeding cafe)
  • Develop and maintain up to date infant feeding practices

Qualifications:


  • BCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) certification
  • Three to five years of clinical experience in lactation or breastfeeding
  • Knowledge of current infant feeding research and evidencebased practice
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and counselling skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problemsolving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of computers

Salary:
$80.00-$130.00 per hour
