Scope of the Position


This position is responsible for the control and monitoring of the storage and filling of hydrogen sulfide and carbon disulfide into pressure vessels, railcars and trailers.

Due to the hazardous nature of the H2S gas being handled and stored this position requires an extremely safety conscientious individual with a highly developed safety attitude and safety focus combined with the ability to demonstrate a high and sustainable focus on attention to detail.


Rate:
$42.49/hr


Position:
hourly, non-exempt


Shift:
rotating 12hr shift


What You Need to Be Successful

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Positive attitude towards safety, wearing correct PPE, and following procedures.
  • Must have initiative, the ability to work with minimum supervision, be highly motivated, energetic, and enjoy learning and working as part of a team.
  • Forklift and TDG Training/Experience preferred
  • Familiarity with a chemical plant, refrigeration systems, and pressure vessels is preferred
  • Able to wear selfcontained breathing apparatus
  • Strong math skills and basic understanding of chemistry
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and computer knowledge

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor plant and equipment within the scope of authority
  • Monitoring meter and instrument readings and making necessary adjustments
  • Observes pressure, temperature, level, and flow gauges to ensure standard operation and make operational adjustments as necessary
  • Testing samples for quality purposes
  • Fills cylinders, railcars, and trailers.
  • Prepare the work area for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete
  • Carry out inscope maintenance operations
  • Cleaning and preparing equipment, and minor maintenance work
  • Fills out log sheets, specifying tare and gross weight, cylinder number, and date filled, and records data.
  • Participate in field level risk assessments and issue maintenance safe work permits.
  • Participate in energy isolation lockout tagout (LOTO) activities.
  • Perform all required prefill and postfill inspections and tests before containers are released.
  • Ensures records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Safely operates a forklift, skid steer, and frontend loader
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Participate in plant housekeeping activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
