Position Information
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the accurate development and continuity of the preventative maintenance program at ACI. They assist in the development of management tools by maintaining statistical information & data and producing reports accordingly. They will also assist with controlling documentation and records for outside contractors, equipment certifications, and maintenance agreements. The incumbent will also be charged with data collection & initial setup of MP2/eMaint. Develop and run Preventive Maintenance plan.


Position Responsibilities

  • Create & issue maintenance work orders using MP2/eMaint software and by requests from other departments.
  • Summarize and report on work order status as needed.
  • Assist in sourcing of stock & nonstock items, equipment and shop tools as needed for Maintenance jobs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting/RCA's in the areas of maintenance & manufacturing as required.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required.
  • Assist in maintaining records concerning electrical repair and preventative maintenance as required.
  • Support Kaizen initiatives by sourcing products as needed.
  • Support of implementation of TS 16949 and ISO audits as needed.
  • Prepare and ensure parts availability before endorsing PM and Work Orders to Maintenance.
  • Increase OA by reducing breakdowns through root cause analysis.
  • Develop and run Preventive Maintenance plan.
  • Develop and run Predictive Maintenance plan.
  • Plan daily work for Maintenance in advance. Target is 1 week ahead.
  • Plan work for Shutdowns. Coordinate outside services with inhouse T/M's.
  • Communicate with production personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems.
  • Daily and Monthly reporting of KPI's.
  • Developing Standard Work for repetitive jobs and PMs
  • Keep all equipment information, including spare parts and manuals.
  • Review work requests as they are received. Conferring with requester for additional information.
  • Hold maintenance planning meetings with PE, PC, and Manufacturing departments on a weekly basis.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience with MP2/eMaint required. Will consider experience with other CMMS.
  • Excellent time management and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Experience in an automotive JIT manufacturing environment.
  • 23yrs Maintenance Planning background desired.
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined.
  • Good math skills. Good Computer Skills.

Beneficial Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Experience in sourcing equipment & tools an asset.
  • Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation.
  • Familiar with Predictive Maintenance technologies.
  • Experience with MRO Purchasing an asset
  • Mechanical or Electrical Technician / Technologist Diploma an asset.
  • Relevant Skilled Trade an asset.
