The House of Commons Procedural Services is currently looking to create a pool for the position of Support Officer, Financial.

The Support Officer, Financial is accountable for delivering services that involve the financial operations, analysis, monitoring and reporting of expenditures and budgets managed by International and Interparliamentary Affairs (IIA) and/or by Committees and Legislative Services Directorate (CLSD)


In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information through comprehensive reviews, analyses, recoveries, and reconciliations.

As a key member of our organization, you'll conduct thorough assessments, draw insightful conclusions, and provide strategic recommendations.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating financial management practices, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, acts, and regulations, and adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.

You will gain knowledge to the many facets of both House of Commons and the Senate.

The position also involves offering insights on leveraging best practices within the realms of accounting operations and strategic business planning.

Qualifications Education**:


  • Postsecondary diploma in a field related to the duties of the position OR an acceptable combination of relevant education, training and experience.

Experiences:


  • Experience compiling, analyzing and interpreting data from different sources;
  • Experience in providing administrative support;
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Microsoft Excel software;

Assets:


  • Experience using an Integrated Financial System such as Business World;
  • Experience in financial planning and budget preparation;
  • Experience in conducting expenditure verification and accounting operation
