Monitoring Officer

Band - Temporary, Full-Time (1-year)


Under direction of the Director of Public Reporting, Policy and Knowledge Management and in accordance with the Ombudsperson Act, the Monitoring Officer monitors the implementation of recommendations made by the Ombudsperson.

The Monitoring Officer tracks timelines for recommendation implementation, reviews and assesses information and documents public authorities provide in support of implementation, identifies deficiencies, conducts follow up as required, and drafts public reports describing the status of implementation.

The Monitoring Officer provides information to authorities about the implementation process and prepares other documents, reports and materials as required by the Director.

This posting is for one 1-year temporary full-time opportunity. An eligibility list may be established to fill similar future vacancies in a full-time temporary or permanent capacity. Temporary positions may become full-time, permanent status. This position is excluded from union membership. Some travel is required.


Upon successful completion of the 6-month probationary period, this position is eligible for 5% salary lift and a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the office's Work Arrangements Policy.
