We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Manager Infrastructure Maintenance for our Infrastructure Maintenance Business Unit.


About the Opportunity:
The Manager Infrastructure Maintenance reports directly to the Director Public Services. This position will be responsible for the overall planning and day-to-day operations of the Infrastructure Maintenance branch. This includes managing, coaching and recruiting operators while adhering to policies and procedures.

The role of the Manager, Infrastructure Maintenance is responsible for road maintenance, snow and ice control, wastewater collection, stormwater collection and the City of Leduc ECO Station.


The Manager is also responsible for monitoring and managing the section's operating and capital budgets, tracking costs and looking for efficiencies and providing overall leadership and direction to staff.

This position works with the public regarding their concerns and expectations regarding all City of Leduc infrastructure maintenance.

Responsibilities include but is not limited to:

  • Coordinating sign and signal maintenance and repairs
  • Perform CCC and FAC inspections on newly developed infrastructure
  • Liaise with Fleet Services to ensure city equipment is adequate to perform the functions and areas it was designed for
  • Overall management of snow and ice control
  • Develop tenders to hire equipment, contractors and materials for the maintenance of the infrastructure of Leduc
  • Inspections of roads, sidewalks, parking, parking lots, multiways and other areas where repairs or maintenance might be required
  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of public services projects.
  • Plan and balance a multiyear operational and capital budget

Qualifications:


  • At minimum, must possess a post secondary diploma in an applied science or engineering technology program, and possess or be eligible for professional designation as a C.E.T. with ASET. Professional designation as a P.Eng. with APEGA, or eligibility for designation, would be considered an asset.
  • Alberta Public Works Supervisor Program Certification, including First Aid, WHMIS, Defensive Driving, TDG.
  • Familiarity with the various equipment that is used in the maintenance of streets, roads, water and sewer operations would be considered an asset.
  • Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check at own expense
