Description

As a Field Coordinator on our General Services team, you will liaise between our contractor teams and ensure our high standards for safety, reliable operations, and adherence to all company, industry, and regulatory requirements are met.

You will also ensure work being completed at our refinery and refinery properties in Saint John, NB are compliant with the contracts and scopes of work that are in place.

This position works in the field about 40% of the time, so you must be able to walk over uneven ground, bend, stoop, crawl, climb high elevations, and wear all PPE as required, year-round, in all types of weather.

The General Services team is responsible for all facilities maintenance at the refinery, buildings, landscaping, transportation, logistics. fencing, refinery roads, parking lots, the overall appearance of the refinery.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safe work environment; hold all contractors and other onsite personnel to company, industry, and regulatory standards of working safely.
  • Lead constructability and scheduling activities for area of responsibility and communicate to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Support small facility maintenance projects.
  • Perform safety audits to maintain a safe work site and safe access for employees by identifying and removing hazards daily, monitor contractor compliance to the Safety Link program.
  • Monitor quality of work being performed by contractors. Provide clarity on field direction.
  • Report issues, make recommendations, and work with contractors to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Provide all necessary paperwork for contractors to perform their work. Including, but not limited to Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Permits.
  • During the summer months lead the summer student program

Your Skills:

  • Good, collaborative relationship building skills to work with crossfunctional teams towards common goals.
  • Able to anticipate problems, proactive in seeking out conditions that look abnormal, with a very strong sense of accountability. Resolve conflicts.
  • Able to make tactical recommendations and decisions to gain alignment on discrepancies.
  • Able to report and communicate well on progress, risk, milestones.
  • Able to prioritize effectively, manage multiple priorities, and change priorities quickly as needed.
  • Ability to supervise students

Your Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Supervisory and logistics experience would be an asset.
  • General contracting experience would be an asset including experience related to roofing, fencing, HVAC systems, window and door installation.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CMMS Systems; Oracle EAM would be an asset.
