This role provides a strong technical foundation and exposure to all aspects of structural restoration, envelope and related building science.

As an Engineer-in-Training at RJC Engineers, you will learn about engineering from a technical perspective, but you will also learn business acumen, teamwork and leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field work related to the assessment and rehabilitation of existing structures.
  • Assist with report writing, contract document preparation and contract administration.
  • Perform effectively in both an office and construction site environment.
  • Work under the direction of a Project Engineer as a member of the project team, from conceptual and preliminary stage of project design to its completion.
  • Some structural design and analysis to determine effective repair alternatives
  • Coordination with other engineering and architectural disciplines
  • Contract administration/construction review while implementing restoration work
  • Client liaison

Professional Qualifications & Experience:


  • Registered as an Engineer-InTraining (E.I.T) with APEGA
  • Previous experience in an engineering or construction environment
  • Able to conceptualize in three dimensions
  • A selfstarter who learns quickly and works hard
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work overtime at some odd hours as needed to meet site requirements
  • Team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Aptitude for working with existing facilities and comfortable working at heights
  • Valid Driver's License

Experience:
Required

  • 5 year(s): Experience in structural engineering or construction

Education:
Required

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Civil Engineering
Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Civil Engineering

Licenses & Certifications:
Required

  • Engineer in Training
  • Professional Engineer
