The Commissionaires National Office is seeking to hire a Content Specialist for its Public Affairs & Marketing team.

This key position supports internal/external communications, advertising, marketing, media relations, and events related to promoting the Commissionaires social mandate of supporting veterans and their families.

The cross-functional role will expose you to many interesting challenges, in a flexible environment, with a dynamic team.


THE ROLE

Job Type:
Full-time, salaried, up to 20-month contract with the potential to become a full-time permanent position.


Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (Some flexibility in hours is possible. Occasional evening/weekend work required).

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Develop internal and external communication pieces in support of Commissionaires' strategic objectives. Examples include news releases, ad copy, brochures, website/ social media content, articles, meeting minutes, and presentations.
  • Proofread and edit a large variety of corporate communications.
  • Contribute to the planning and creation of meaningful communications products to promote and celebrate the upcoming 2025 Commissionaires Centennial. Mediums may include video and magazine.
  • Support and represent Commissionaires at industry tradeshows, sponsorships, and other associated events as required.
  • Additional related support duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education:


  • University degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience:


  • 3+ years of relevant experience is an asset.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other creative tools (i.e. Canva) is an asset.
  • Experience delivering effective and innovative digital marketing campaigns is an asset.

Skills / Abilities:


  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and presentation.
  • Superior English writing, editing and proofreading skills are essential. This includes indepth knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spacing rules and standards.
  • Ability to adapt writing style for a broad variety of audiences and mediums.
  • Advanced formatting skills, especially in Word documents and PowerPoint decks.
  • Advanced research, analysis, and factchecking skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge/good understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

Ce poste interfonctionnel vous exposera à de nombreux défis intéressants, dans un environnement flexible, au sein d'une équipe dynamique.


LE RÔLE

Type d'emploi:

Contrat à temps plein, salarié, d'une durée maximale de 20 mois, avec la possibilité de devenir un poste permanent à temps plein.


Heures de travail:
Du lundi au vendredi, de 8h00 à 16h00 (une certaine flexibilité dans les horaires est possible. Travail occasionnel le soir et le week-end).
