This position will be based in Nisku, AB.
What You Will Be Working On
- Assist with fabrication projects, including liaison with PM, Consulting Engineers, and Subcontractors
- Assist with preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule
- Review TEKLA Structures shop drawings
- Support the procurement of material and equipment needs as directed
- Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking
- Prepare take offs and cost estimates
- Price site instructions, work orders and change notices
- Support QA/QC team with turnover to client at completion of project
- Provide other technical office support as required by production personnel
- Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports
- Participate in shop safety meetings and be a leader of initiatives
- Postsecondary degree (in progress) in a Civil Engineering, or Welding trade
- Commercial steel estimating experience is an asset
- Work experience in a related role within a fabrication facility considered an asset.
- High level of organization and time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and client management skills.
- Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with mínimal direct supervision
