Position Summary
The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for administration, reporting, training and user support of internal systems.

Leading the technical oversight, managing the IT infrastructure and day to day operations of the department the SA will be responsible for Windows on premise and Cloud environments, Desktop and Application support and network and database administration.

This position reports to the Senior Project Manager and is a member of the Business Services Team.

There are no direct staff reports to this position, but supervision of students, volunteers, and others may be required from time to time.

Duties & Responsibilities
Functional and Administrative

  • Provide tier 1 support
  • Provide onsite/remote support daily
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of your areas of responsibility
  • Ensure corporate standards and policies are adhered to and assist in defining new policies and standards as required
  • Other duties as assigned or required


The Systems Administrator is the key technical resource supporting the technical requirements of the organization by serving as the interface to multiple support vendors.

Technical Knowledge & Expertise

  • Maintain appropriate certifications, continuing education and knowledge base to ensure expertise and proficiency in networks and database systems
  • Facilitate regular meetings with all business units to maintain service level
  • Liaise with service Vendors to address problems in a timely manner and ensure system integrity and reliability
  • Stay connected to the technology community through publications, meetings and online resources
  • Participate in all technology initiatives within Homeward Trust as assigned
Other Duties

  • Provide support to stakeholders including other HTE departments, government, technology contractors, and others as required.
  • Provide support to all departmental staff, including but not limited to maintaining files, drafting correspondence, and preparing reports
  • Perform other tasks as appropriate and time allows.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology or related discipline
  • Excellent logical, analytic and problemsolving skills with a demonstrated ability to provide solutions under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Strong knowledge in Networking, TCP/IP, Routers, VPN technologies
  • Strong knowledge in Active Directory, Group Policy and Exchange
  • Demonstrated experience working with one or more virtualization technologies and network storage solutions
  • Prior work in the not for profit, social/human services or related industry is an asset.
  • Database administration experience with SQL, other
  • Knowledge or experience administering ERP/CRM systems
