12 months per year, 35 hours per week

Pay Band 9MV - $31.56 to $35.07/ hour

for the full-time position Technical Services Specialist - ICT.


The purpose of the Technical Services Specialist - ICT position is to provide hardware and software technical support to the system.


This position reports to:
Manager of Technology Systems


Main Responsibilities:


Servicing, troubleshooting, analyzing, designing, researching and implementing solutions to technical problems and repairing, installing, upgrading, configuring, maintaining and supporting new or upgraded technology.


Supports and maintains communications equipment traveling to sites and carrying out service calls for telephones, voice mail, public address and sound systems, video conferencing and facsimile machines.


Processes service requests, analyzing, evaluating, and investigating reported technical issues, prioritizing and organizing service calls logging, tracking, assigning and routing using Helpdesk database and referencing Helpdesk personnel.


Resolves technical issues initiating hardware replacements, software upgrades, system re-configurations and/or delegate and follow-up on delegated and completed technical service solutions monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing, and overseeing vendors/contractors.


Provides systems and network services administration including account maintenance, resource allocation and utilization; system performance monitoring and tuning, availability monitoring and repair and providing security management; wireless network management.


Performs research and development testing, staging and integrating new computer hardware and software developing new procedures, programming and scripting batch processes, researching with vendors, installing and testing new hardware, software and network solutions, and documenting findings.


Ensures all systems are appropriately backed-up and that data security access restrictions and anti-virus safeguards are in place and restorable.

Performs other duties as may be assigned.


Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and 3 year College diploma in a related Technology program

6 months to 1 year experience


Specialized Skills:
Advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases

Microsoft Certifications in WINDOWS products or NetWare operating systems, Linux and Mac OS

LAN/WAN/Wireless technical support experience within an IPX/SPX and TCP/IP environment is preferred

Experience or training in service, repair and installation of computers and associated network/peripheral equipment

Solid internet skills including knowledge of product development and the evolution of the World Wide Web

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Valid drivers' license with use of own vehicle

A commitment to service excellence.

Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search, dated within 6 months prior to the date
