THE POSITION
A leader in the Finance department, the


HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT

  • Lead month end accounting processes for the organization.
  • Oversee daytoday accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury.
  • Coach and mentor accounting staff, promoting ownership and a teaming culture.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, policies, and systems to improve accuracy of reporting and increase efficiency.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Overseeing monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure the company is commodity tax compliant in both Canada and USA.
  • Design and implement internal controls.
  • Perform financial modeling and analysis.
  • Perform budget to actual analysis and investigate significant variances on a monthly basis.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of new ERP solution.
  • Partner on crossdepartment corporate initiatives.
  • Communicate with external auditor and prepare annual audit working papers.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE

  • Minimum 3+ years' progressive accounting experience and experience in a senior accounting role
  • Preference given to those with manufacturing experience.
  • Indepth understanding of full cycle accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems, processes, standards, etc.
